About the Trek
For those who are seeking an exciting and adventurous trekking experience in Uttarkashi, the Dodital-Darwa Pass trek is an excellent option. This trek is highly regarded as one of the most beautiful treks in North India, attracting travelers from around the world. The trek is named after the rare Himalayan trout, known as Dodi in the local language, which is found in the Dodital Lake.
During the trek, you will be treated to some of the most stunning scenery in the region. You will pass through mountain villages, verdant vegetation, and bubbling streams of water. The Dodital Lake, considered sacred by locals as the birthplace of Lord Ganesha, is a major highlight of the trek. Its crystal-clear waters and serene atmosphere are sure to leave you spellbound.
The Darwa Pass, which is also part of this trek, offers breathtaking views of some of the highest peaks in the region. These peaks include Mt. Bandarpoonch, Mt. Srikanth, and Black Peak, DKD 1 & 2, Jaonli. The pass also serves as a gateway to Yamunotri, a holy site that has been visited by pilgrims for centuries. However, reaching the pass can be a challenging task due to the steep elevation gain and snow climb in winter. Therefore, it is recommended to undertake this trek during the months of April to June and October to December, which are considered the best times for trekking in the region.

DETAILED ITINERARY - 1
DAY 1 - DEHRADUN TO AGODA (160 km drive)
Enjoy the scenic 7hr trip to Agoda via uttarkashi. Stop for lunch and a few breaks along the way.
Along the way we can see the confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi at Devprayag. You get to see the massive tehri Dam while driving towards Chinyalisaur. On the way we take a short halt at Uttarkashi town to make any last-minute purchases. After which we head towards the lovely village of Agoda which serves as the starting point of our trek to Dodital. After dinner we have a short briefing where the key details of the trek, dos and don’ts and what to expect during the trek, is shared by the trek leader.
DAY 2 - AGODA TO DODITAL
Wake up with the mesmerizing views of the mountains. After breakfast we start our trek towards manjhi, it marks the beginning of our journey to Dodital.
The trail goes steadily from Bebra through the forest above the asi ganga valley leading to Dodital. After 7kms of ups and downs we reach Manjhi, a gujjar settlement where we take a short break to have our packed lunch. After Manjhi we make our way through the rohododendron, pine, oak and bamboo forest to reach Dodital which is 9 kms away from Manjhi.
By late afternoon we reach the abode where Lord Ganesha was born i.e., Dodital. We set our camps beside the lake premises. Warm dinner is served and cozy tents are ready for the overnight stay.
DAY 3 - DODITAL TO AGODA (16 km trek)
After a mesmerizing morning at Dodital. Enjoy a little in the morning around the vicinity of the lake. Go for the darshan at the Ganesh Ji's temple. Soak in the beautiful views into your memories. After breakfast, its time to start our return journey. Mountains are very peculiar in sense that they change the perception of human beings towards everything. Hence walking down the same path feels as if taking a new journey altogether. The same route feels totally different. It gives you a totally different vibe.
After walking around 5 hrs you reach at Agoda. Spend your evening in a homestay at the village. After dinner we retire for the night.
DAY 4 - AGODA TO DEHRADUN (160 km drive)
You wake up to the beautiful sounds of the village and freshen up for the day. In the meantime, breakfast is prepared and after having breakfast we start with our journey back to Dehradun.
Around evening we reach Dehradun. After being together for last few days we bid adieu and leave for out respective places.

DAY 3 - DODITAL TO DARWA PASS TO DODITAL (10 km trek)
Early in the morning one can have the darshan of Lord Ganesha’s temple beside the lake. After which breakfast will be provided. As for the day one can explore the vicinity of the lake and check out the surroundings of Dodital.
There can be a second option for the day. With an early breakfast one can leave for Darwa Top. The trek is difficult in nature because of 1000mts gain in altitude in just 5 kms, hence leaving early becomes a necessity. Rest assured, the expert trek leader cum guide make the traverse easy for the group. We also provide micro spikes, gaitors and other necessary equipment needed to do the ascend. View from Darwa Top is breathtaking, one can also witness peaks like DKD1, DKD2, Swargrohini, Kala Nag, Bandarpunch. Then we decend to our Dodital camp side. After lunch explore the vicinity of the lake and surroundings. Dinner at 7:30 pm and retire for the night.
