DAY 1 – DEHRADUN TO JAKHOL
Our journey begins with a delightful reception in Dehradun, followed by a scenic drive to Jakhol. The route to Jakhol is a visual treat, passing through Mussoorie, Kempty Falls, Nainbagh, Naitwar, and the captivating Shivalik range. As we approach Purola, the landscape transforms dramatically, with thick pine forests, abundant Rhododendrons, and occasional stretches of oak and deodar trees. The refreshing forest scent revitalizes us, and any motion sickness dissipates instantly.
As evening falls, we arrive at Jakhol, a quaint hamlet nestled amidst the dense pine and deodar forest of Uttarkashi district.
The village charms us with its traditional wooden carved houses, offering a glimpse into the local heritage. You will get accommodated with one of the families of the village. Enjoy your evening with the family in their home learning about their lives as you take sips of your tea. Later go for a little stroll in the village or you can sit around the comfiness of the wood fire stove and watch your dinner being prepared. After enjoying a satisfying dinner, we retire for the night, embraced by the tranquility of the village.
DAY 2:- A DAY IN JAKHOL
On this day wake up to the sounds of village and birds which sets you in a relaxed tone for the day. Then after having breakfast, we begin with our walk around the village.
The first thing we do is visit the temple of the local deity and have their darshan seeking blessings for our life. This is the best way to catch a glimpse of the local religious traditions. Then we move ahead where we witness village people going on with their daily chores. You will get to try any field activity like working in a field, washing clothes in a traditional wooden tub, picking up veggies from the garden, etc.
Then in the noon we have lunch somewhere in the village. Post lunch we will be talking about the architecture of the village houses, their traditional dresses and jewelry, their handicraft industry and many more amazing yet simplistic things, accompanied with a stroll around the village.
DAY 3 – JAKHOL TO DEHRADUN
In the morning, after breakfast we leave for Dehradun. The uneasiness of leaving the place is quite difficult to tackle but all good things come to end with beautiful memories ingrained to cherish for lifetime. This tour is just like a REDBULL, except for the soul. It energizes and revitalizes our soul to get back to our daily lives in the city.
On the way back to Dehradun we stop somewhere in between to have our lunch. In the evening we get reach Dehradun where we bid adieu to each other after a few days of being together through night and day.
